#Writespiration 52 Weeks in 52 Words Keep Out!

Posted by

This week for Sacha’s #Writespiration Challenge,  we have got to write about what happened when we ignored the KEEP OUT sign.  Of course it has to be done in EXACTLY 52 words.

The sign on the door was forebodingKeep Out

It said in large letters KEEP OUT

What was the mystery behind it

I really had to find out

I grabbed hold of the door knob

prepared for an assault on my eyes

The immaculate room I saw before me

Gave me a pleasant surprise!

Having a teenaged daughter  means that her room is very often a ‘no-go zone.’ There are clothes all over the place, not to mention crumbs, empty wrappers books and other odds and ends.

My daughter does not have to do any housework, but I do insist that she does her room herself as it gets into a mess so quickly. The problem is, her tolerance for untidiness is so much higher than mine and I have to resist the urge to go in there and sort it out.

However, over the weekend, there was much banging and crashing, and moving about of furniture. She was finally mucking it out! Several bin bags, a huge pile of washing and the sound of the vacuum cleaner bashing against walls meant that it was finally safe to open the door!

  1. Impressive! I bet you’re glad to see her taking some pride in her space!
I remember one time sitting on the sofa, hearing Moo fire up the vacuum, and I was ever so frightened of what she’d done — but she was just vacuuming her floor! 🙂

    1. Yes, I must say it is good to see her room looking lovely.
HA! I know what you mean. Mr Grump did have to take the vacuum apart afterwards as God knows what she had done to it as it wasn’t working properly, but at least the room was done!! 🤣🤣🤣

        1. HA! I speak quietly and am shy in a room full of people, but due to being clumsy and heavy handed when I get up first in the morning my husband always knows as I am clanging and banging around downstairs !!!

    1. I just have to keep the door shut or I would go mad! Even the dog doesn’t hang around in there for long, although she nearly always comes out with some random bit of food!
