#Writespiration 52 Weeks in 52 Words The Blood Curdling Phone Call

Posted by

Another chilling week this week from Sacha for our #Writespiration prompts. We have to write about a blood curdling phone call in the middle of the night. Needless, to say, we have only got 52 words EXACTLY to do so!

This poem is about one of a parents’ worse nightmares.

Jarred awake around midnight

The phone rang loud and strong

Who could it be at this hour?

There has got to be something wrong

“Your daughter has had a seizure

You need to get here without delay

It seems she has been drinking vodka

And now the ambulance is on its way”

  1. god, I absolutely dread every getting that phone call. I felt a bit funny at the end of that poem. But that just shows how good of a poem it is 😀 fantastic entry as always

        1. Glad your step-brother was ok too.
I find it so much easier to write about things I know as sadly I don’t have so much imagination as some of you!! 🙂

    1. Did we? I haven’t seen yours yet, I am still catching up. Funnily enough I started writing this yesterday then decided not to but I did not have the imagination to write anything else as this actually happened to us a couple of months ago 🙁
