blogging bash

A Blogging Great Day!

Wow, what a wonderful day I have had today. As many of you know (if you don’t, you soon will do as you are going to hear a lot about it), it was the second Annual Blogger’s Bash today. This was organised by the brilliant committee members Sacha (yes, she is just as crazy as you think, but also funny, feisty and nutty as a fruitcake, oh and a lady of great style with a wonderful taste in shoes), Hugh ( a perfect pint-sized package of caring and kindness. also funny and friendly), Ali (sunny, smiley, and very sweet, again, with a great sense of fun) and Geoff  (purple-bearded, witty and a wonderful cook. I certainly got stuck into some of the treats he had made, and the lemon drizzle cake was delicious)! Without these four tirelessly working their little butts off, none of this would have been possible, so i for one, am extremely grateful!

Now, I am the first to admit that I am not the most social person in the world and I also am not great with large number of people either, but such is the power of our blogging community, there are people who I just HAD to meet! I surprised myself and my family by actually getting on the train and I am so glad that I did. Unfortunately, I didn’t take as many photos as I would have liked to, but I have made a small collage of some of the ones I did take. I am sure you will recognise some of the faces in them!

I also met some new faces and have some different blogs to check out which I am looking forward to. I really felt privileged today. The committee had gone all out to organise an interesting day for us, and had thought of everything. Luca, the speaker they booked to give us a talk on Social networking and blogging was informative and helpful, the venue was great and the scheduling was spot on! As I said, I felt privileged; privileged to belong to such a diverse and vibrant community, privileged to have made so many wonderful friends who are just the same in ‘reality’ as in the virtual world, and privileged to be able to call myself a blogger.

Oh, and not only that, privileged and touched to have not only been nominated for Best Dressed Blog, but to have come second! Thank you, it means the world.

Please follow and like 🙂

Thank you Geoff. It was a real treat meeting you ‘in the flesh’ too. You are even funnier in person and I loved the snippets of your Dad’s poems, that you gave us. I reckon that you are a chip off the old block! 🙂

Congratulations Judy. It was lovely talking to you if only briefly. That’s the sad thing about these events there’s never enough time to chat! Still hope to see you again in the future, perhaps at next year’s event.

Well, what a real pleasure it was to finally meet you, Judy. I only wish I had had more time to speak with you, but, with Boss Sacha looking over her shoulder at me every five minutes, I had to ensure I was was capturing the moments.
